Between social media, peer pressure, identity struggles, and the constant change in culture, parents feel overwhelmed and outmatched. At times, they blame the culture for their family problems, they make decisions out of fear, trying to protect their teens from “the world,” or they simply ignore the issues, hoping they will go away. They are grasping for a better way to be the parent they know they can be.
Becoming a Teen Savvy Parent helps parents make sense of their teens’ world without fear, blame, or blinders, and encourages them to lead their teens to engage the culture. Author Brian Housman helps parents become a greater influence by stepping into their teens’ lives, understanding what’s shaping them, and discovering how families can engage the world with redeeming goodness, wisdom, and love.
With grace and honesty, Becoming a Teen Savvy Parent guides parents through real issues their teenagers face. Each chapter offers insight, challenge, and practical steps on how to move from reaction to relationship; how to go from being another voice barking rules, to being an advocate that leads their teenager into freedom.
