There’s no doubt the world feels like a crazy place sometimes, and we all have to live in it. With the speed at which culture is changing and the volume of ideas coming at our kids, it can feel overwhelming to keep up. Cultural influences are strong, and as followers of Jesus, we’re continually learning how to lead the next generation toward something healthy and life-giving as they encounter all that the world has to offer. That’s why this month, we’re giving you tools and ideas to help you lead with confidence when your children inevitably run into the things of the world. As a parent, you don’t have to freak out. You can intentionally build a culture at home that shapes your kids more deeply than does the culture around them. You have the opportunity to build relationships and foster trust in a way that will give your kids the foundation they need, no matter what they encounter in the world.
LEARN.
WATCH.
This month’s Parenting Class reminds parents that while we can’t fully shield our kids from the influence of culture, we can intentionally build a culture at home that forms them more deeply than the world ever could. It encourages parents to focus less on control and more on how their kids are being formed. The goal is to help kids build an identity rooted in Christ that will withstand the chaos of the world. Even in a loud and fast-moving culture, a Christ-centered home can be a steady, formative place where children learn who they are, who God is, and how to live a life of faith every day.
