Sharise serves as a missionary in the country of the Congo, one of the darkest and most dangerous countries in Africa. Leading a ministry called Beautiful Blessings, Sharise cares for and teaches children the Gospel while their mothers learn skills and trades to free themselves from poverty. We are reminded that Christ is the light, and calls us to be His light wherever we go, even in the midst of deep darkness.

As the son of Cuban immigrants, Landy found himself involved at 12 in a gang, beginning a pattern of violence, drug, alcohol, and gang activity. Arrested multiple times, Landy faced the potential of life imprisonment, but the Lord provided a way. He received Christ, turned away from his past and now serves the Lord teaching youth and adult inmates through his testimony of God’s grace and rap music.

He selects one that seems the most broken and takes it home to repair it. Through the story, the daughter recognizes the picture of God’s love for His children, how He seeks out the lost one, brings it home, and restores it - just like he does for us.

They must seek Him first.

Heaven seems far away. While we live on this earth, we long for an eternity with Christ, but find ourselves still living under the ‘shadow of death’. (Psalm 23) Using the illustration of the shadow, we see that even though this world is against us, we can still find hope under the shadow of His wings. Our loving God protects His children and provides for them until that day that Heaven is realized - and we come out from the shadows and into His glorious light.
