Sword Drill is your classic, “First to find this verse in their Bible” type of game. Just set it up by entering the verses that you want to use. The reference will appear on the screen and your students will have to rush to flip to it in their Bibles. The first to stand up with the verse ready to be read gets a point! This is a fun way to get your students into knowing where verses are in their Bibles.

What makes this a premium game?

Premium games are those that you can play over and over again as the outcomes of our premium games are never the same! Watch the video to the left to learn all about how this premium game works. Games that are "one and done" are a part of our Classic Game catalog and those can be seen here.

    • Sword Drill requires a little setup before playing. In the dashboard’s settings, click the, “Add a Verse” button at the bottom. A new box will appear where you’ll enter the verse text and the reference (Book, Chapter, and Verse Numbers). Make sure that the verse text doesn’t contain the verse numbers themselves or footnote references. Make sure you save your changes before staring the game. The verses are displayed in order. So if you need to, you can rearrange them by clicking and dragging the icon in the top left corner of each box. Again, make sure you save your changes.
    • The controls are pretty simple. Just use the buttons in the dashboard, or their corresponding keyboard keys. Make sure all of your students (or just the contestants) have a Bible. Tell them that you’re going to display a verse reference and the first person to flip to that verse has to stand up. Then have them begin reading the verse out loud.
    • If they're right, click the button in the dashboard that reveals the verse text, and give them a point. If they get it wrong (You’ll have students who accidentally flip to the wrong book and will read the wrong verse), give another student a chance to stand up and try.
    • Once the verse text has been revealed, that verse is removed from the list and you won’t be able to go back to it. This lets you skip verses without having to worry about going back to one that you already did.
    • For whatever reason, you can always click the “Reset” button in the dashboard to reset the whole game. You also have two buttons that will move the logo up and down. This is handy for when you want to talk about something and just want to show the logo on the screen.
