What is Activate: God's Faithfulness?

Being perfectly faithful is who God is. From the earliest days of His interactions with humankind, we see God acting in faithfulness in the face of the unfaithfulness of His people. It is an awesome testimony to who God is.

God’s Faithfulness, one of the studies in the Activate line of Bible study curriculum, will help your students will learn about the faithful nature of God, how His faithfulness is shown perfectly in the person of Christ, and how we are called to be faithful in our interactions as a result of our identity as children of God.

WHAT'S COVERED IN GOD'S FAITHFULNESS?

LESSON 1: FAITHfulness From the start

What we want students to learn: That students would understand that God is the perfectly faithful God who can always be counted on.

What we want students to do with what they’ve learned: To see God as the truest source of stability and reliability in their lives.

Scripture Focus: Deuteronomy 7:9, Numbers 23:19, Lamentations 3:22–24

Overview: So much of our faith hinges on the faithfulness of God. Because we are frail, flawed humans, we are utterly lost without a God who is faithful to redeem us. Being perfectly faithful is who God is. From the earliest days of His interactions with humankind, we see God acting in faithfulness in the face of the unfaithfulness of His people. It is an awesome testimony to who God is. In this series, your students will learn about the faithful nature of God, how His faithfulness is shown perfectly in the person of Christ, and how we are called to be faithful in our interactions as a result of our identity as children of God.

LESSON 2: THE ultimate show of faithfulness

What we want students to learn: That they would understand the faithfulness Jesus showed in fulfilling God’s mission for Him, even in the face of extreme circumstances.

What we want students to do with what they’ve learned: To be reminded that when things get tough, they can look to Jesus' example of strength and encouragement.

Scripture Focus: Luke 22:39-43, Hebrews 12:1-3

Overview: Life isn't easy, not for any of us. But our students are especially prone to take the tough times and kind of magnify them. When things are not going well, they impact so much of our students’ lives. It affects them mentally, physically, and spiritually. The cool thing is that part of being in a relationship with Jesus is having Him to lean on in times of trial. This has everything to do with God's faithfulness. We can rely on Jesus because He went before us and showed us how to progress through trials. This lesson will help students see the strength and assurance that can be gained by knowing and following faithful Jesus.

LESSON 3: God's Faithfulness, our faithfulness

What we want students to learn: That God's faithfulness empowers their faithfulness, especially when it comes to temptation.

What we want students to do with what they’ve learned: To commit to taking God up on His promise of a “way out” when they are tempted to sin.

Scripture Focus: 1 Corinthians 10:12-13

Overview: This lesson will take a particular view of God's faithfulness, one that is focused on helping your students understand an extremely practical application of God's faithfulness. There are a lot of different ways to look at how God's faithfulness impacts our lives. The goal of this lesson is to show students that it has real-life application in their daily struggle to live as Christ-followers.

REAL STORIES FROM REAL YOUTH PASTORS

"This year long curriculum is absolutely incredible! I am using this curriculum for 7th-12th grade Sunday morning bible studies. My teachers and students have been engaged every week with the studies that have been put together. This has been an easy win for our student ministry."

"First let me say I really enjoy going through my YM360 curriculum with our students. The units don't shy away from the tough subjects, but are also super relatable for our students. The organization of the lessons and helpful tips is a huge asset to our teachers as well. They allow our teachers who don't have a seminary degree to feel comfortable teaching the Bible."

"Our adult teachers are very impressed with the lessons in your studies, and the students enjoy it as well. Thank you for providing excellence in your ministry!"
