Youth Coordinator

Job Details

The Youth Coordinator provides leadership and direction for the middle school and high school ministries (6-12th grade) of Park Street Brethren Church. This role is deeply relational, focused on forming students in the way of Jesus through community, Scripture, and service. The Youth Coordinator partners closely with families, volunteers, and the pastoral team to help young people who know, love, and follow Jesus in daily life.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary oversight and pastoral leadership to the middle school and high school ministry of Park Street Brethren Church.
    • Define and provide pastoral care of the youth at Park Street Brethren Church, helping them grow spiritually and live out their commitment to Christ and His mission.
      Identify, train, encourage, and support volunteers and teams in this effort.
    • Ensure the planning and coordination of youth events; Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and annually.
    • Manage the administrative and logistical needs of youth ministry budgets, safety, registrations, and communication with integrity and attention to detail.
    • Partner with parents as primary disciplers in their child's faith journey, and equip them in their leadership at home.
    • Assist students in engaging Scripture and applying faith to everyday life.
  • Support Students’ Spiritual Growth
    • Communicate regularly and effectively with students and families to share updates, invite involvement, and offer resources and encouragement.
    • Equip and empower students to take leadership in teaching, serving, and guiding their fellow peers.
    • Create safe, welcoming spaces for all students.
    • Listen, encourage, and guide students at various life stages and in diverse circumstances.
    • Guide students in a growing understanding of their spiritual giftedness and connecting them to opportunities to practice these gifts.
  • Embody and nurture the vision of Park Street Brethren Church
    • Collaborate with the church staff and lay leaders to align youth programming with the church’s broader mission and discipleship strategy.
    • Attend and engage in weekly staff meetings.
    • Actively participate in the Park Street Brethren Church Pathway: Worship, Discipleship, Stewardship, and Leadership.
    • Alignment with PSBC values rooted in the Brethren tradition.
    • Lead the youth ministry independently while collaborating with staff, seeking help when needed, and sharing strengths to support the church’s overall mission.


Qualifications

  • A growing and mature relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrated through humility, integrity, and love for others.
  • Build meaningful relationships with students through consistent presence, care, and mentorship.
  • Model Christlike humility and authenticity.
  • Experience in youth ministry, teaching, or discipleship (paid or volunteer).
    •Bachelor’s degree in ministry, education, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

Hours and Compensation Schedule and Hours

This is a part-time to full-time salaried, exempt position, with compensation commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.

The role requires flexibility in schedule, including office hours, evenings, weekends, special events, and week-long trips such as camps, conferences, or mission trips.

The Youth Coordinator should be actively involved in the life of Park Street Brethren Church, investing long-term in students, families, and the broader ministry. This position reports directly to the Associate Pastor and works collaboratively with the church staff team.
