Emoji Slots

Getting Started:

• Decide on how many students are playing. For this example, we’ll have three. Have all three students come on stage and explain that the high score wins. You get bonus points for matches. 

Instructions:

• Press the spacebar on your keyboard to start the slots. Have the first person either press the spacebar or just scream, “Stop”. The slot machine will land on three items and tally the score. It will also figure out any bonuses. 
• If you want them to go again, just press the spacebar to start the slots once more. If you want it to be the next person’s turn, tap ‘R’ on the keyboard to reset the game. Keep note of the first contestant’s score. If the second person beats that score, have the first person sit down. 
• Otherwise, have the second person sit down. Repeat this until everyone has gone and you have a winner! To build suspense, instead of tapping the spacebar, have them tap the “Enter” key to stop each slot manually. If you want to goof on your students, you can force a high score. Just tap the “2” or “3” key on your keyboard to tell the game how many matches to force. 
• If you have a Bluetooth keyboard on stage for the students, have someone else with a second keyboard who can tap those keys. The contestant gets bonus points for matches. Press the spacebar on your keyboard to start the slots. Have the first person either press the spacebar or just scream, “Stop”. The slot machine will land on three items and tally the score, figuring in bonus points.
