The first couple of years in youth ministry can be a difficult time for many youth pastors to navigate. At times it seems like each step could potentially have a hidden landmine underneath. If only you had a roadmap to follow or a well-traveled guide who had "been there and done that" to point out the potential land mines before you unknowingly put your foot down. This masterclass can be that guide for you! Whether you're in your first few years as a youth leader or you're a more seasoned one who finds yourself in a place where you're starting anew, these 12 tips can keep you from blowing up or burning out in youth ministry.

About the Instructor

Jon is an avid runner, a devoted family man, a certified youth ministry coach, and a youth ministry veteran with over 16 years of experience. He has served the last decade of those youth ministry years as the Pastor of Student Ministries at Northbrook Church in Richfield, WI. Jon will tell you that he owes much of his longevity in youth ministry to the mentors and coaches he has been fortunate enough to learn from along the way. Now he enjoys walking alongside other youth pastors and helping them thrive in life and ministry. Jon and his wife Shalanna (a certified enneagram life coach) have been married for 15 years and have three children; Charity, Jace, and Joy. You can learn more about Northbrook by visiting www.northbrookchurch.org/. To learn more about the passion he and Shalanna have for coaching, visit their Instagram @youth_ministry_coaching.
