This Is Love – Teaching Series

This Is Love is a four-session series that helps students discover what God’s love is actually like. Each session, students will explore a different aspect of God’s love and see that when His love truly takes hold of a person, nothing stays the same.

Students are growing up in a world that tells them love is conditional or earned. It’s based on performance, popularity, or how well they measure up, and many of them have brought that mindset into their understanding of God’s love. This Is Love helps students see that God’s love is different than anything the world offers. This series challenges students to stop trying to earn God’s love and live as people who have been transformed by it.

What's Covered in This Is Love?

Session 1: Reaches (Romans 5:6-8)

We were powerless, broken, and had nothing to offer, yet God reached for us anyway. In this session, students will see that God’s love was intentional, planned long before they were born, and demonstrated fully on the Cross. Students will be challenged to stop trying to earn God’s love and to see that God reached out to us first.

 

Session 2: Inseparable (Romans 8:35-39)

In this session, students will see that nothing can take away or separate them from God’s love. This session challenges students to stop living as if their relationship with God is fragile and to see God’s love as unbreakable.

 

Session 3: Compels (2 Corinthians 5:11-21)

In this session, students will discover that God’s love compels us. When God’s love truly takes hold of a person, it redirects what they live for, makes them a new creation, and gives them purpose.

 

Session 4: Transforms (Philippians 1:3-6)

In this session, students will discover that God’s love transforms. God begins a good work in every follower, and He will bring it to completion. Students are challenged to see that true transformation isn’t something they produce; it’s something God does.
