Storyteller – Teaching Series

Storyteller is a four-session series that takes students through four of Jesus’ parables and challenges how they can still teach us something meaningful in today’s world.

Students are surrounded by stories, but very few stories ever change them. Jesus told stories that did. Storyteller walks students through four of Jesus’ parables and the questions they still ask: who we love, what we do with what we've been given, what our lives are built on, and how we receive God's truth. Students will be challenged to let these stories shape how they actually live.

What's Covered in Storyteller?

Session 1: The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37)

This session helps students see that Jesus calls us to love everyone, even those we find hardest to love. Students will be challenged to recognize the people they avoid and respond with compassion instead of excuses.

Session 2: The Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) 

This session helps students see that God has entrusted us with something and is coming back to see what we did with it. Students will be challenged to faithfully use what they've been given instead of burying it.

 

Session 3: The Two Houses (Matthew 7:24-27)

This session helps students see that what we do with the words of Jesus shows what our lives are really built on. Students will be challenged to build on Him now, before the storm reals their foundation.

 

Session 4: The Sower and the Soils (Matthew 13:1-9, 18-23)

This session helps students see that God's Word is always powerful, but it takes root only in a heart ready to receive it. Students will be challenged to be honest about condition of their own hearts.
