  • Lesson 1

    • Main Passage: Numbers 13:1-2, 17-33, and 14:1-9
    • Secondary Passage: Matthew 28:18-2
    • Purpose: To remind us that it is best to trust and obey God, even when we feel fearful about following Him.
    • Session Snapshot: If God says it will be done, you can trust that it will be done. If God says He is with you, you can trust that He is with you. As students, we must learn to trust God’s promises and boldly and confidently submit to Him in all things, even when we might be tempted to trust our own ways instead of His ways. God’s plans will not be thwarted. We can either trust Him and stand with Him through it all like Joshua and Caleb, or be afraid to follow Him like the other ten spies, and miss out on the blessings that God has for us.

    Lesson 2

    • Main Passage: Joshua 1:1-9
    • Purpose: To understand that the promise of God’s presence will empower us to live with strength and courage.
    • Session Snapshot: Moses’ time on Earth was almost up. God chose Joshua to take over the role of commander-in-chief of Israel. To lead a nation of people in a Godly way, Joshua would need an abundance of worthy character traits, and towards the top of that list are courage and strength. People naturally follow strong leaders. And the only way for a leader to be strong and courageous in the ways that really matter is to have confidence that God is with you. To grow into followers of Jesus Christ who can lead others in a Godly way, we must be confident of God’s presence.

    Lesson 3

    • Main Passage: Joshua 4
    • Purpose: To realize the importance of remembering the faithfulness of God and responding to it.
    • Session Snapshot: As we move forward into all that God has in store for us as Christians, it is essential to remember all that God has done in us. Just as Joshua set up literal stones of remembrance, Christians today should see the figurative stones of God’s goodness and faithfulness that He has shown to us. When we are quick to remember who the Lord is and what He has done, we will be ready to live lives of faithfulness.

    Lesson 4

    • Main Passage: Joshua 24:14-15
    • Purpose: To examine what it means to serve the Lord in sincerity and faithfulness.
    • Session Snapshot: Most of us would say that we want to serve God, but what does that really mean, and what does it look like to do that with our lives? Joshua teaches us that service to God is about far more than just claiming Him with our words; it is about living a life of wholehearted faithfulness.
