  • Lesson 1

    • Main Passage: Psalm 63:1-2
    • Purpose: A disciple has a need, or hunger, for God. In this lesson, we will consider how to develop and sustain this hunger for the Almighty.
    • Session Snapshot: The disciple hungers to know God. Do you have a hunger to know God? David had that hunger, likening it to someone wandering in a desert, desperate for water and nourishment. It was an all-consuming need. The Bible teaches us that the greatest need for God’s people is to know Him, and to know how we’re called to live in response to Him. But does your life reflect it? How can you, as young followers of Jesus, hunger to know God in deeper and more profound ways throughout our lives?

    Lesson 2

    • Main Passage: Philippians 3:7-8
    • Purpose: To embrace the truth that life with God is the only answer to the deep longings we find within our hearts.
    • Session Snapshot: The world constantly proclaims a message that you need to be someone: that you need to have a nice car and nice house, be married to an attractive spouse, have an impressive job, and be respected as an important person. The world says that once you do all these things, then you will have “made it.” However, time and time again, even when people are able to achieve all of these goals, all they find is discontentment. That’s because we were made for more than the things of this world. We were designed to know and love our Creator and Savior.

    Lesson 3

    • Main Passage: Psalm 1:1-2
    • Purpose: A disciple of God desires to know and follow the ways of the Lord at all costs.
    • Session Snapshot: To be a disciple of God means that you desire to know God. What are some potential mistakes we could find ourselves making that cause us to miss the mark? How do we find delight, satisfaction, joy, and even the holy blessing of God? In this session, we will consider our hunger for God and how to posture our lives to grow each day in our hunger to know God more.

    Lesson 4

    • Main Passage: Colossians 4:2-4
    • Purpose: To develop a heart for the lost by drawing near the Lord in steadfast prayer and aligning our hearts with His.
    • Session Snapshot: Prayer is not just a means of asking for God’s help when we’re in a pinch, but a way to align our hearts with His. As we spend time with Him in steadfast prayer, we will know His heart more clearly and begin to care more deeply about the things He cares about. To know God is to know His heart for the lost and to live our lives in such a way as to make the mystery of Jesus known to the world.
