  • About This Resource
  • About The Author
  • Youth ministry has evolved since the days of playing chubby bunny or planning the dreaded lock-in. On the one hand, there is a remarkable and truly unique opportunity to challenge an information-saturated generation to consider the life-changing claims of Jesus Christ. But on the other hand, there are significant challenges to how we do ministry in an increasingly dangerous, complicated, and litigious world.

Culture is not stagnant. It changes as time moves on, creating new challenges to navigate. This is especially true in youth culture. While the first edition of Protect reignited the discussion on risk management in youth ministry, this revised edition has been updated with today’s youth ministry leaders and challenging cultural issues in mind.

Protect (Revised & Updated Edition) provides practical insights, advice, and wisdom for navigating risk in youth ministry by covering critical topics like:

    • Calling, character, and integrity
    • Vetting volunteers
    • Spiritual guidance versus counseling
    • Bullying
    • Pornography and abuse
    • Mandatory reporting
    • Policies and procedures
    • Facility, mission trip, and camp concerns
    • Negating negligence
    • Navigating new and challenging cultural issues
    • And much more
