$49.99

Jesus and Stuff: A 4-Lesson Bible Study will teach your students that it’s impossible to both love their stuff and truly love God, that stuff doesn’t add any real meaning to their life, and that they have to learn to see their stuff as God’s to be used as He sees fit.

Our culture puts a tremendous value on having stuff. And not just on having stuff, but being emotionally attached to our stuff. This message is played out in so many different aspects of our lives. We’re told a certain car will make us happy. A certain brand will make us cool. A certain gadget will make us fulfilled. And so many of us buy into these messages wholeheartedly. Especially our teenagers. Good thing Jesus had a lot to say about this.

Jesus and Stuff: A 4-Lesson Bible Study, one of 13 Jesus Studies Bible studies, will teach your students:

  • That it’s impossible to both love their stuff and truly love God
  • That if their love for their stuff comes between their devotion to God, they’re doing it all wrong
  • That no matter how much stuff they have, it doesn’t add any real meaning to their life
  • That they have to learn to see their stuff as God’s to be used as He sees fit

Teach Jesus and Stuff to help students embrace a Christ-centered attitude toward their stuff.

  • Lesson 1: Where’s Your Treasure?

Learning Objective: Students will learn that Jesus said it’s impossible to both love our stuff and truly love God; and will be challenged to grasp that their stuff is fleeting; only the impact they have for God will go with them to heaven. (Matthew 6:19-24)

Lesson 2: Follow Me, But Leave Your Stuff

Learning Objective: Students will learn that if our love for our stuff comes between our devotion to God, we’re doing it all wrong; and will be challenged to honestly evaluate whether or not their love for their stuff competes with their devotion to Christ. (Mark 10:17-27)

    Lesson 3: Less Is More

Learning Objective: Students will learn that no matter how much stuff we have, it doesn’t add any real meaning to our life; and will be challenged to accept the challenge to see what stuff they can do without and consider donating it to someone who is needy. (Luke 12:13-21)

Lesson 4: God’s Stuff, Not Ours

Learning Objective: Students will learn that we have to learn to see our stuff as God’s, not ours, to be used as He sees fit; and will be challenged to commit to viewing all their possessions with a spirit of sacrifice, understanding that we only have what we have because God chose to give it to them. (Mark 12:41-44)

  • Secure your next year of Bible study strategy today with the Jesus Studies 52-Week Strategy

Fears every Youth Worker has when selecting a year-long Bible Study:

    • The fear of locking into a Bible study that looks good on the surface but doesn't go any deeper than surface-level
    • The fear of being a few weeks into a study and it not meeting the expectations you set
    • The fear of picking a study that doesn't ultimately speak into the lives of your students

It doesn't have to be this way.

You don’t need to be reminded of the issues teenagers deal with as they try to live out their faith in a world that’s often opposed to their core beliefs. Navigating these issues can be rough. Teenagers get so many mixed messages; the world says one thing, their friends may say another. And we hope they know enough about their faith to know how to make sense of it all.

The Jesus Studies, a 52-week Bible study strategy, cut through the confusion, teaching your students a Christ-centered look at the major issues they deal with in their lives.

These are not watered-down, topical Bible studies. These studies reveal how Jesus weighs in on the very issues your students are confronted with on a daily basis. Your students will learn to see life through the person of Christ.

Your students will journey through the following concepts: Jesus and Identity, Your Faith, Jesus and Culture, Jesus and Loving Others, Jesus and Tough Times, Jesus and Your Image, Jesus and Stress, Jesus and Forgiveness, Jesus and Influence, Jesus and Relationships, Jesus and Your Future, Jesus and Mean People, and Jesus and Stuff.

Teach The Jesus Studies to equip your students to see the relevant issues of their lives through the words of Jesus.
