Joy. It’s a good word. It’s a happy word. It’s a word that’s often confused with happiness. Happiness is something we all know about and are looking for. We drive ourselves to all kinds of extremes in the name of happiness. But happiness isn’t joy. Happiness relies on what we can see and how we feel, which means that happiness often seems just out of reach. Then there’s joy. Joy is what we’re promised in the Bible. It’s not dependent on circumstances or emotions but instead based in something real, solid, and lasting. Joy is based in Christ, so it endures through situations and occasions, no matter how scary, hurtful, or challenging they are. We’re calling this euphoric joy.
Euphoric: A Joy Ride Through Philippians
Euphoric is a four-session sermon series that will not only teach your students about joy but also how to choose joy in their everyday lives. By walking through the book of Philippians, your students will learn from Paul that Christ provides them an unconditional joy, but that they have to make the choice to accept it and live in it. They will discover how to see, be, chase, and choose this joy offered to them through Jesus.
