Today’s teenagers are brand managers—and they are the brand. With every selfie, every Instagram post, every TikTok, they shape how they are perceived. For better or worse, they are extremely image-conscious. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But what does this idea of image control have to do with being a Christ-follower? Good thing Jesus had a ton to say about this.

Jesus and Your Image: A 4-Lesson Bible Study, one of the 13 Jesus Studies Bible studies, will help you teach your students four essential truths about their image:

  • That “denying themselves” means their image is to be driven more by who God is and less by who they are
  • That they don’t have to hide their brokenness from God or the world
  • That no matter how they try and control how they are perceived, they are ultimately known by their actions
  • That it’s a mistake to let their concern for their image get in the way of their devotion to Jesus

Teach Jesus and Your Image to your students and help them project a Christ-centered image to the world.

  • Jesus Studies 52-Week Strategy
  • Lesson 1: Image Is Everything

Learning Objective: Students will learn that “denying ourselves” means our image is to be driven more by who God is and less by who we are; and will be challenged to step back and evaluate the image they present to the world and whether it’s focused more on them or on Christ. (Mark 8:34-38)

    Lesson 2: Broken

Learning Objective: Students will learn that they don’t have to hide their brokenness from God or the world; and will be challenged to express to God where they are most broken, and where they need His presence the most. (Luke 18:35-43)

Lesson 3: You Are What You Do

Learning Objective: Students will learn that they are ultimately known by their actions; they can try to control their image, but their actions say a great deal to the world, and to God, about who they really are; and will be challenged to evaluate any areas of their lives where their actions don’t line up with their professed identity as a Christ-follower. (Luke 6:43-45)

    Lesson 4: Fearless

Learning Objective: Students will learn that it’s a mistake to let their concern for their image, and what people think about them, get in the way of their devotion to Jesus; and will be challenged to recommit to living a bold faith for God regardless of how they may look to the world around them. (Luke 7:36-50)

  • Secure your next year of Bible study strategy today with the Jesus Studies 52-Week Strategy

Fears every Youth Worker has when selecting a year-long Bible Study:

    • The fear of locking into a Bible study that looks good on the surface but doesn't go any deeper than surface-level
    • The fear of being a few weeks into a study and it not meeting the expectations you set
    • The fear of picking a study that doesn't ultimately speak into the lives of your students

It doesn't have to be this way.

You don’t need to be reminded of the issues teenagers deal with as they try to live out their faith in a world that’s often opposed to their core beliefs. Navigating these issues can be rough. Teenagers get so many mixed messages; the world says one thing, their friends may say another. And we hope they know enough about their faith to know how to make sense of it all.

The Jesus Studies, a 52-week Bible study strategy, cut through the confusion, teaching your students a Christ-centered look at the major issues they deal with in their lives.

These are not watered-down, topical Bible studies. These studies reveal how Jesus weighs in on the very issues your students are confronted with on a daily basis. Your students will learn to see life through the person of Christ.

Your students will journey through the following concepts: Jesus and Identity, Your Faith, Jesus and Culture, Jesus and Loving Others, Jesus and Tough Times, Jesus and Your Image, Jesus and Stress, Jesus and Forgiveness, Jesus and Influence, Jesus and Relationships, Jesus and Your Future, Jesus and Mean People, and Jesus and Stuff.

Teach The Jesus Studies to equip your students to see the relevant issues of their lives through the words of Jesus.
