So Much More

What We Want Students to Learn: That God is so much more than we can ever imagine, but out of His grace, makes Himself known to His children.

Scripture: 1 Chronicles 29:10–13; Isaiah 55:8-9

Session Snapshot: There is a God. And there is no one and nothing like this God. He is eternal. He is all-powerful. He is righteous and holy. There is a depth to His nature that we can never fully know. God is glorious and amazing and wonderful . . . FAR MORE than we could ever comprehend. And yet, in His grace and mercy, the God of the “so much more” makes Himself knowable to us. While we can never fully plumb the depths of His character, we can be in relationship with Him because He makes it so. This foundational session will set the tone for the rest of your Bible study gatherings.

What We Want Students to Learn: That God’s love is so much more complex and complete than we could ever expect.

Narrative Scripture: Philippians 2:5–11; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 2:4-5

Session Snapshot: Is there anything better than contemplating the “so much more,”overwhelming, sheer audacity of Jesus’ love? Jesus, who by His very nature is God Himself, stepped out of heaven and walked among His creation, fully God, but fully man. He embraced all that humanity entails, just so that we could experience new life with God, both here and for all eternity. And He did this because He loves us. Paul tells us that Jesus didn't just become a man, but that He became a SERVANT, to the point of humbling Himself in death, taking on the wrath of God that He did not rightfully earn, all so that we might be saved from the just punishment our sins earn us. What an extravagant gift of love. This session will help your students reflect on exactly what Jesus' love means for them and the world.

What We Want Students to Learn: That God's vision for their life is so much greater than they can anticipate and that He is present with them as they go. 

Narrative Scripture: Joshua 1:6- 9; Isaiah 41:10

Session Snapshot: When we consider the “so much more” of God, it can be overwhelming in a good way. But sometimes, we consider our own lives, and we are left somewhat underwhelmed. We look around us and ask, "Is this it? Is this all God has for me”? The wonderful news is that God’s so much more doesn’t just stop with Him. God has a vision for our lives that is WAY more than we can comprehend. His great desire is to use us, His people, to change the world for His sake. The best news of all? He goes with us. He doesn’t wind us up and set us free. He goes before us and prepares a way, then walks with us down the path He has directed. This is a POWERFUL message for your students, one that will challenge and equip them to lean into what God has in store for them.

What We Want Students to Learn: That God has given His people a source of strength that is so much more powerful than most ever realize. 

Primary Scripture: John 14: 15-17; Ephesians 3: 20-21

Session Snapshot: As Christ-followers, we go about our daily lives doing our best to live as God expects us to live, not out of obligation, but because we are His children. The interesting thing is how often we attempt to live this life under our own power and NOT with the help of the Holy Spirit. Why? Because we often don’t understand the power or purpose of the Holy Spirit. This session will help students understand the gift that God gave us as we live in the world, but not being of the world.
