Kill Square is our most popular church game because it gets everyone up and moving, having fun, and praying for survival. This game takes a little bit of preparation, but your students are going to love it. It’s easy to understand and students of all mental and physical abilities will enjoy it.

What makes this a premium game?

Premium games are those that you can play over and over again as the outcomes of our premium games are never the same! Watch the video to the left to learn all about how this premium game works. Games that are "one and done" are a part of our Classic Game catalog and those can be seen here.

  • Getting Started:

    • First, mark off four, large squares that are big enough to fit a quarter of your group in each one. Using tape or large poster boards, label each square with a number as shown in the image above (we use duct tape on the ground). Have everyone stand in a square.

    Instructions:

    • Then, hit the spacebar. There will be a 3- second countdown to allow people to make any last-minute changes. Then, one of the squares will turn red and everyone who is in that square is out! They have to stand around the parameter of the room. The square that was killed becomes active again. Everyone left has a few seconds to move to a new square before you hit the spacebar again.
    • Repeat this until there is one person left. This is a high energy game for the youth group that works great with fast-paced music in the background and a host announcing which square(s) was picked. Also, make sure you have leaders and volunteers there to keep an eye on cheaters. It gets very chaotic and every youth group has, “that kid” who will slip back into the game when nobody is looking.
    • One final note: We found it best to leave a 3 foot gap between the squares (rather than just making a large plus symbol on the ground). Having 4 separate boxes that are spaced out makes it much easier to see who was in the squares that were picked. If you want, you can hit the Enter/Return key on your keyboard to do the beep as many times as you’d like. You can also force a square to be out just by hitting the 1-4 keys. In fact, you can have multiple squares out at a time if you’d like. The C key will clear the squares for the next round!
