Student Ministries Director – Ovid Community Church
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Youth Pastor
STATUS: Full-time 40 hours per week
SALARY: Salary + benefits (Depending on Experience)
SUPERVISOR: Lead Pastor
ABOUT OUR CHURCH:
Ovid Community Church is a thriving church in the Anderson/Pendleton area of Indiana.
Our average attendance is between 200-240 people. The mission of our church is to see lives transformed by connecting people to God and to one another. Our vision is to create environments for people to move from distant to dedicated in becoming lifelong followers of Christ. We are looking for an energetic and dynamic person who wants to join our team and help accomplish the mission God has given us.

JOB OVERVIEW:
OCC is looking for a dynamic and visionary leader to provide oversight, direction, and structure to students (intermediate, middle school, high school & College aged). This person will help steward an overall vision for the next generation at OCC.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead/Oversee all aspects of weekly student ministry programming for grades 6-12.
- Be the primary communicator and leader for the senior youth gatherings.
- Recruit, train and release a team of volunteers (especially small group leaders) to help lead and disciple students.
- Work with a team to plan training and SLU events and fundraising.
- Organize and plan youth services and special events. (VBS, Summer camps, Missions, etc.)
- Invest relationally in students, parents & volunteers.
- Partner with our senior pastor and staff in creating an overall discipleship strategy for the next generation.
- Partner with our Children's ministry director to create transition strategies from elementary to intermediate school.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, ABILITIES, SPIRITUAL GIFTS:
- Strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ evidenced in lifestyle, personal relationships, commitment to the church and work ethic.
- Demonstrate spiritual maturity and character consistent with the Biblical requirements for leadership.
- Spiritual gifts that enhance leading, administrating and facilitating. Strong communication skills are a must.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills that reach across generational barriers.
- Ability to multi-task a broad range of projects and assignments and meet due dates in a timely fashion.
- Desire to work closely with a team in helping fulfill the overall vision of OCC. At times this means working with the entire church staff on executing church wide events (e.g. Easter, Christmas Eve, etc)
