Smyrna First Baptist Church is located in suburban Atlanta and is in one of the fastest growing counties in Georgia. Smyrna itself is facing growth at unprecedented levels. This growth in the community has brought a rich cultural diversity to the doorstep of Smyrna First Baptist which provides an ideal opportunity for sharing the Gospel of Christ. Currently the congregation of First Baptist is transitioning to a new facility within the heart of Smyrna that will better serve the existing congregation and its ministries in our efforts to reach the city with the Gospel.
Responsibilities:

Plan and oversee ministry to middle school, high school and college students

Provide vision, direction, and programs that foster the spiritual growth of both youth and volunteers

Partner with parents in discipling and ministering to their children

Recruit, train and equip volunteers for youth ministry

Develop and oversee the youth ministry budget

Ensure a safe and supportive environment within our youth ministry
- Other tasks that may be required in the total ministry of the church
Qualifications:

A clear calling to ministry and particularly youth ministry
-
A testimony of coming to faith in Jesus Christ and demonstration of continuing spiritual growth

Undergraduate degree preferably in some field related to ministry. A seminary degree or currently enrolled in a degree program is preferred but not required

Experience working with pre-teens and teens in a ministry and/or school setting
- Have a vision and purpose for youth ministry

Some level of comfort working in a demographically diverse suburban setting with students from differing educational environments such as public, private and homeschooled students.

Good communication and planning skills

Ability to collaborate effectively and function on a team
