Job Details

Principal Function:
Work closely with members and staff to support the vision of Bethany Baptist Church in developing and leading the student ministry to help teenagers and their families to Believe in Jesus, Become His Disciples, and Build His Kingdom.

Reports To:
Lead Pastor

Other Working Relationships:
Pastoral Staff Members, Deacon Body, & Student Ministry Committee


    • Lead the student ministry volunteers to formulate & execute a discipleship strategy.
    • Be the primary student ministry leader, teacher, & preacher in large group settings on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.
    • Recruit, equip, & train all levels of leadership within the Student Ministry.
    • Build relationships with students and their families to help them grow in Christ & connect to the church.
    • Plan & lead  student ministry events, camps, and mission trips
    • Annually develop & oversee the student ministry budget, working with all appropriate committees/teams to effectively use church resources to maximize ministry opportunities
    • Lead efforts to equip teenagers to reach the unchurched with the Gospel
    • Exhibit a positive attitude, and be a team player.
    • Design, plan, and conduct periodic parent meetings in order to meet the needs and expectations of families attending the church.
    • Lead the creative use and proactive upkeep of student ministry facilities and grounds.
    • Encourage and motivate students in a growing commitment and connection to the body of Christ and an expanding contribution to the mission of Christ.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor in advancement to the mission of Bethany Baptist Church.


    • As a pastoral position, the qualifications listed in 1st Timothy 3:1-7 apply to this position.
    • A growing, personal relationship with Jesus
    • Education and Experience Leading in a Church Setting
    • Ministry experience preferred
    • Bachelor’s and/or Seminary degree preferred
    • Must be married
    • Demonstrates ability to listen effectively and to communicate clearly, both orally and in written form.
    • Demonstrates ability to plan, organize, and execute retreats, camps, and mission trips accommodating students and adult volunteers
    • Strong people skills
    • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities

    Job Classification:

    • Full time, salaried at 40 hours per week
    • $45k-60k + Benefits & Parsonage (if desired)
