Posts From Other Awesome People
We search the Internet to bring you relevant information to help you be a better youth worker. Here are some links from posts we thought were pretty great.
- Youth Ministry.com--Doug and Matt write a great post about empowering the parents of your students.
- ReYouth Pastor.com--ym360 contributor Jeremy Zach posts a review of some of his most popular blog posts. There are some really good posts here. Take the time to browse around.
- Youth Specialties.com--All around good guy Shawn Michael Shoup provides incredible insight: he interviews his teenage daughters about their experience visiting other youth groups. I loved this. Great, great insight for youth workers.
- Called To Youth Ministry.com--Christopher Wesley writes about how you can "pay" your volunteer workers.
- The Overflow--Brian Berry writes a really instructive post about working with parents of teens.
- Not A Mega Church.com--ym360 contributor and all-around great youth minister, Tom Pounder, writes a post on bullying and how to deal with it. Good stuff, here.
- More Than Dodgeball.com--Geoff Stewart writes a guest post on MTDB.com about how to diffuse angry parents. A really good article.
- Love God Love Students.com--Matt McGill writes a really helpful post on how to ask/write really good questions. Great advice for small group leaders.
- Life In Student Ministry.com--Tim Schmoyer writes a great post on the role of the youth pastor in the church.
- Rethinking Youth Ministry.com--Brian over at "rethink" has a great post in their series on "signs" of youth ministry, about "yielding" control of (some parts) your youth ministry to students.
- Jay Higham.com--ym360 contributor, Jay Higham, includes the new promo video for the Simply Youth Ministry Conference. Jay is right: the conference is amazing. It is, in my opinion, the best youth ministry conference. Period. We will be shining a spotlight on SYMC starting next week. (We'll also be giving away two free registrations . . . but don't tell anyone. :) ).
- Radical Parents.com--I really like the Radical Parents site. It's a great resource for really creative and useful parenting articles (written from a teenager's perspective). This post is a list of weekly articles for parents. Consider sending this post to your parents as a way of equipping them.
- Doug Franklin.com--Doug writes a very useful and very timely post about leading "good" kids.
That will do it, folks. As always, have a great weekend . . . And THANK YOU for the chance to serve you as part of the ym360 community.
