flashback friday (feb. 10): this week's links from the youth ministry blogosphere

One of the things we are committed to at ym360 is Networking. Our vision for networking is connecting you to people and organizations doing awesome youth ministry.

Flashback Friday is a feature where we give you the run down of all the awesome posts from the past week in the youth ministry blogosphere. Consider it our way of keeping you connected with what is going on.

This week's posts from the ym360 Blog

Posts From Other Awesome People

We search the Internet to bring you relevant information to help you be a better youth worker. Here are some links from posts we thought were pretty great.

  • Adam McLane, "You need to get out more"—I linked to this article on my personal Twitter and Facebook this week. It's a VERY challenging and important message from Adam. Very well done.
  • Ben Kerns, "An easy way to score huge points with parents!"—Very useful post from Ben. Like Chris' below, it's just solid advice. A good reminder in the "best practices" category.
  • Ben Read, "A Youth Pastor needs to be a Spotlight Leader"—This is actually Ben recapping a talk Doug Fields gave at last year's Orange Conference. But, I agree with Ben: It really resonates. Strong stuff. here.
  • Brian Berry, "Key Qualities In A Youth Pastor"—Another post that made me think this week. I'm curious what qualities you'd add?
  • Chris Wesley, "When Email Fails..."—This is a simple post, but it is a very practical reminder. Good stuff.
  • Doug Franklin, "3 Keys to Delegation"—Really strong post from Doug. Quick read but super useful.
  • Jonathan McKee (on dougfields.com), "I'm Not a Student Leader!"—This post resonated with me. I've encountered this sentiment in students, as I'm sure you have. I like how Jonathan puts this.
  • Josh Griffin, "How to Do Student Baptisms"—I love this insight into how Josh and his folks do baptisms. I love observing others' methodology and values. (Plus, the picture is awesome!)
  • Radical Parenting, "Apps For Teens"—Not a youth ministry post, but a little freebie: a teenager talking about which educational apps she has on her devices. Might pass along to your students' parents?
  • Youth Ministry Media, "Infographic: Facebook and Teens Emotions"—Really, really powerful info graphic. Take a second and digest this. Paints a real picture of what teens are going through and how they communicate it.

That's all the links for this week. As always, have an awesome weekend . . . And THANK YOU for the chance to serve you as part of the ym360 community.
