No Other Name – DNOW / Retreat Study

Session Purpose: To introduce the event by showing the unrivaled supremacy of Jesus Christ. This session sets the tone for the rest by elevating Jesus and His name above everything else.

Main Scriptures: Colossians 1:15-20, Hebrews 1:1-4, Acts 4:12, Philippians 2:9-11

Session Snapshot: Everything begins with Jesus. Before students explore how to worship Him or live for Him, they need to understand who He truly is. This session reveals the unmatched authority and supremacy of Christ. He is not just one voice among many. He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Reconciler of all things. His Name changes everything, not just because it’s powerful but because of the Person behind it. This message invites students to recalibrate their view of Jesus and challenges them to re-center their lives around No Other Name.

Session Purpose: Students will understand that through His life, death, and resurrection, His Name breaks the chains of sin, allowing us to walk in freedom.

Main Scriptures: Luke 4:16-21, John 8:36, Galatians 5:1, Romans 6:18

Session Snapshot: In this session, students will explore how the Name of Jesus brings true, lasting freedom—not just from external struggles but from the deep, spiritual chains that keep us captive. They’ll learn that Jesus came to declare freedom as His mission, that He alone has the power to truly set us free, and that this freedom isn’t a license to do whatever we want but to choose to live a way that honors God. They’ll be challenged to stand firm in that freedom by choosing what is right, rejecting the things that once enslaved them, and walking daily in the new life Jesus offers. 

Session Purpose: Students will learn that Jesus isn’t distant or detached. His nearness isn’t a past event; it’s a present promise. We can confidently worship No Other Name, knowing we are never alone because of who Jesus is and what He has done.

Main Scriptures: John 1:14, Philippians 2:6-8, Matthew 28:20, Psalm 34:18

Session Snapshot: In this session, students will explore how No Other Name reveals a God who enters our world, pain, and everyday lives. They’ll learn that Jesus didn’t just come to earth and leave; He continues to draw near, offering His presence in every moment. While other religions describe a god who must be reached through works or personal effort, Jesus flipped the script—He came to us. Students will be reminded that they are never alone, unseen, and never forgotten—and they’ll be challenged to respond to His nearness with worship, trust, and a renewed sense of confidence in the God who is always with them.

Session Purpose: Students will understand that following Jesus means carrying His Name into the world and not keeping it private. They need to live representing Him boldly, publicly, and purposefully in everything they do.

Main Scriptures: Romans 10:13-15, Colossians 3:17, Matthew 5:14-16, Exodus 4:10-12

Session Snapshot: In this session, students will be reminded of the power, presence, and freedom in the Name of Jesus. But more than that, they’ll be challenged to recognize that the Name of Jesus isn’t just something we receive—it’s something we carry. Students will explore what it means to represent No Other Name in their daily lives, how the Gospel spreads when we share His Name, and how our actions and words reflect the truth of who He is. In short, the goal of this session is simple but powerful: to send students out with confidence, calling, and a clear reminder that the world needs what they’ve found in Jesus Christ.
