Is it a brand name… or just what we call it now? Genericide is a hilarious and surprising crowd game where players have to decide if an item is still a trademarked brand or if it’s become so common it’s just a generic word. Get ready for some shocking reveals — your students will never look at everyday products the same way again!

How to Play

Show an item or word on the screen. Students decide whether it’s trademarked or generic by moving to the left side of the room for “Trademarked” or the right side for “Generic.” Reveal the correct answer — anyone on the wrong side is out! Keep going until only one player remains — they’re the last one standing and the winner!
