Communicate God's Word. Powerfully. Clearly.
For many years our friend Ed Newton led a grassroots movement taking place in Memphis, TN & Orlando, FL focused on growing our preaching and teaching voices. In 2015, YM360 began partnering with Ed as well as other ministry partners and state conventions to provide CLEAR for ministry leaders seeking to sharpen their skills as clear Bible communicators. These short, intimate gatherings allow youth workers to collectively pour over God’s Word, highlight essential truths, and learn to communicate that truth in a clear, powerful way.
Welcome to CLEAR: An experience designed to improve your voice as a part of the art of preaching.
Many people can talk, but few can communicate! CLEAR is simply a strategic effort to not just influence your communication style, but to help shape it. Communication at it’s simplest definition is the ability to create connection from the sender to the receiver with a message of clarity leading unto a response. Therefore, when this simple technique is saturated in the eternal promise of God’s Word never returning void, the ramifications are significant. Therefore, it is my heart in these days that we share to help you find "your unique voice" in communicating clearly for life-change. In short, come learn how to stay true to who you are in the calling you have been given and be effective in communicating the whole counsel of God. —Ed Newton

Leading the Way
Dr. Ed Newton is the lead pastor of Community Bible Church, in San Antonio, TX, a 27,000 member congregation, a multiple campus, missional community of multigenerational, multicultural disciple-makers who seek to initiate and celebrate life change in Jesus' name. Ed and his wife, Stephanie, have four children: London, Lola, Liv, and Lawson. Together they seek to lead a generation of people to hear God's voice and respond in extreme faith in obedience. Dr. Newton is an author, speaker, and a leader with an intentional burden to speak into the Church towards revival, leadership, evangelism, discipleship, leadership, missional living, and especially for the “next” generation to become a “now” generation. Ed received his formal training from several institutions: Bachelor of Science in Church Ministries from Clearwater Christian College, Clearwater, Florida, a Masters in Religious Education from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Masters in Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry in Pulpit Communication from Trinity Theological Seminary.
Landon Dowden serves as Lead Pastor at Hebron Church in Dacula, Georgia. Originally from Louisiana, Landon has a Master of Divinity, a Master of Theology, and a Doctor of Philosophy from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Landon has been a Lead Pastor for over 13 years and has led student camps for many national student organizations for the past 21 years. He currently serves as an adjunct professor for Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary working in the Doctor of Ministry program in the field of preaching. He has published two commentaries in the Christ-Centered Commentary Exposition Series which are Exalting Jesus in Ezekiel and Exalting Jesus in Esther. Landon’s conviction regarding preaching is that nothing is better for God’s people than God’s word which leads him to preach expositionally through books of the Bible. He has been married to his wife, Tara, for over 15 years and they have four children: Arabella, Adalaide, Adoniram, and Alastair.
Chad Poe serves as the Teaching Pastor at Grace Bible Church in Clute, TX. He preaches God’s Word through storytelling, media, and visual experience. As a result, the Scripture is clearly presented in order for people of all ages to examine and apply Biblical truth to their everyday walks of life. As someone not simply called to speak, Chad believes in the importance of relationship and seeks to get to know people when he is away from the stage. Ultimately, Chad hopes to see people moved into a deeper relationship with Christ. In turn, they will live lives of action that impact their world. Chad is originally from Chattanooga, TN. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he received a degree in Secondary Education. Following college, he attended Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, TX where he received a Masters of Divinity. After graduating seminary, God called Chad to serve in itinerant ministry. Chad and his wife, Hope, live in Lake Jackson, TX with their sons (Shepherd, Charlie, and Alder) and daughter (Magnolia Bea). He is an avid reader and infrequent visitor to the gym.
After growing up in a small country church Drew had a real experience with Jesus when he was 17 that changed his life. Beginning as a hobby, Drew began studying the art of magic and mentalism. He loves the opportunity to perform using his skills of illusion and has had opportunities to perform on stages all over the world. However, those elements just help him connect with a group to deliver the Word and share the Gospel in a real and relevant way. Drew spent 11 years in the Pacific Northwest planting churches and raising up young leaders to become church planters, leaders, and disciple-makers. Drew now serves as the Lead Pastor at The Rim campus of Community Bible Church in San Antonio, TX alongside Ed Newton. Drew is married to his wife, Jane, and has a daughter, Tilly. He continues to travel, perform, and speak throughout the year.
In a world that is constantly shifting, consistency is of utmost importance. Through the developed skills of Communication, Coaching, Consultation and Collaboration, Dave Rhodes empowers leaders in The Art of Congruency—developing personal lives and corporate cultures that are constantly changing but never random. Dave currently works as the Pastor of Discipleship and Movement Initiatives at Grace Fellowship Church in Atlanta Georgia. He is a sought after speaker, writer, consultant and coach. He is co-founder of Wayfarer and a collaborative partner for 10,000 Fathers and Younique. Dave is married to Kim and the father of three children – Emma, Izzie and Frankie. Together they function as a Family on Mission, showing and telling people about Jesus. Dave enjoys playing golf, watching college football and eating chicken wings (and maybe eating chicken wings a little too much).
Scott Kindig serves as Pastor of Kingdom Initiatives at Community Bible Church in San Antonio, TX. Scott was born in Nashville, Tennessee, but his spiritual journey and ministry career began in Georgia and continued there throughout college and seminary. In addition to serving on staff at several churches in roles such as Youth Pastor, Disciple-Making Pastor, and Chief of Staff / Executive Pastor, he has had the opportunity to minister at numerous leadership development events, student camps and events around the nation. Scott also has served the Georgia Baptist Convention as a Youth Ministry Consultant and, most recently, has been part of a ministry that multiplies leaders around the world with the goal of expanding God’s Kingdom influence through discipleship and missions. He has been trained and certified in ministry coaching, disciple-making, learning communities, identity and calling, and vision templating for congregations. Scott is married to his wife, Kim, and has four amazing children: Seth, Nate, Drew, and Mary Beth.
Andy Blanks is YM360's Co-Founder and Publisher. Andy Blanks leads all the content creation for YM360. If it's a blog post, resource, or workshop, Andy has his hands on it (for better or worse!). In 2003 he took a gig in youth ministry publishing where his passions for God's Word and for creating intersected in a dynamic way. He was hooked. Andy lives in Birmingham, AL with his wonderful wife Brendt, their three daughters, and one son. He's a pretty big fan of both the Boston Red Sox and anything involving the Auburn Tigers. When he's not hanging out with his family or volunteering at his church's youth ministry, you can find Andy trail running or mountain biking.
