
Job Details
The Youth and Families Pastor at CrossPointe Community Church is a full-time position who works with the Lead and other Pastors to form a dynamic pastoral team to serve our growing congregation. An Assistant Pastor is given specific areas and roles to oversee: in this case the areas of youth and family ministries. Many of the other responsibilities will be at the discretion of the Lead Pastor, to whom he reports to, however the Youth & Families Pastor has the primary focus of growing young disciples of Jesus Christ by developing and implementing a comprehensive approach to children's and youth ministry. The Youth and Families Pastor will also take the lead in equipping parents to be Godly leaders in their home. As with all of the other Pastors at CrossPointe, an Assistant Pastor serves as a member of the Elder Board.
Responsibilities & Expectations
The areas listed below are not exact roles, responsibilities and expectations nor is this an exhaustive list. However, it is expected that an Assistant Pastor work intimately with the Elder Board and Lead Pastor to ensure the implementation of the vision, goals and mission of the church through the following means and examples:
As a Husband and Father
- Maintain a continued growth in his personal calling and walk with the Lord through Bible study and prayer
- Have safeguards in place (accountability partner or leadership team) to help protect his relationships, especially of that with his wife

As a Spiritual Leader
- Directly oversees the growth and development of the children's (Pointe Kids) Middle and High School Youth Group (The Pointe) and other areas of Christian Education that relate to children and youth ministry
- Recruit, train and support volunteers to work in all aspects of youth ministry including Ministry Directors, Sunday School Teachers and Youth Group Leaders
- Mentor, disciple and train the next generation leaders of our church

As an Elder
- Be able to demonstrate Biblical wisdom in decisions, actions and recommendations
- Represent the church within the community and uses discretion on establishing healthy relationships with community leaders and businesses

As a Manager
- Plan and coordinate classes for Middle and High School Youth Groups on Sundays and Wednesdays as well as plan special events and mission trips
- Plan and coordinate Pointe Kid “Sunday School” and Wednesday evening Awana program
- Organize and plan church-wide VBS program
- Works with the Lead Pastor to develop goal setting and key result areas
- Establish and manage the budget areas he oversees
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor and/or Elder Board Proverbs 15:33, 16:3, Galatians 6:9, 1 Corinthians 4:2, Colossians 3:23-24, 1 Peter 4:10-11
Qualifications
- Must have made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and been baptized according to scripture
- Must adhere to the qualifications of an elder as defined in 1 Timothy and Titus
- A degree in a Youth Ministry or equivalent education
- A minimum of two years experience in leading and discipling children, youth and teens
Compensation
This is a salaried position with the expectation that the Assistant Pastor work a flex schedule, on average, 40 hours a week. The benefits for the position include medical, vision and dental coverage as well as paid time off and a 457 match. The exact compensation and benefit package will be determined and negotiated with the Elder Board and Lead Pastor, and may or may not include housing allowance and/or accommodations as part of the overall package.
