Youth Worker BOOST: Instant Gratification

ym360 knows youth workers. We know what an incredibly rewarding, yet incredibly challenging job youth ministry can be. There are days when your spirits are sky-high, and there are days when you could use a bit of a “pick me up” from God's Word . . . That's why we're happy to offer Youth Worker Boost, one of the many valuable resources on the ym360 Blog.

Boost is a short, weekly piece of encouragement designed to, well, “boost” your spirits and encourage you as you minister to students. We consider it yet another great opportunity to serve you and your ministry.

Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: "Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all people."--Luke 2:28-31

Simeon was a devout man who had the Spirit of God on him, something that had been far too infrequent for almost 400 years. God promised Simeon he would not die until he had seen the Messiah. When Mary and Joseph arrived at the Temple with the baby Jesus, Simeon immediately knew it was the Christ child. He knew he could die in peace. The promise of a lifetime was fulfilled and the joy Simeon felt must have been incredible.

Are you waiting on God to fulfill a promise in your life?

It's great to see God's promises fulfilled in the short term, but it is the long term promises that bring the most joy. If you're waiting on God to come through with a promise in your life, don't give up! God is working in His time and on His schedule. And God never disappoints.

Be patient and wait with a spirit of expectation. One day the joy of a promise fulfilled will flood your soul! And it will be worth the wait.

Our prayer for you: Our prayer is that you would live in expectation of God moving in your life, and that when He does, that you would recognize His provision with praise and thanksgiving.
